Adobe® and Localizers: a strong team

Adobe Systems Incorporated makes a dizzying array of software products for consumers and creative professionals in a variety of industries. 98% of all connected PCs worldwide have Adobe Flash® Player and Reader® installed. Adobe Acrobat® and its PDF file format are vital technologies for electronic publishing. Flash, Dreamweaver® and Photoshop® are the tools of choice for developers and designers worldwide.

With more than 50 different products being translated into as many as 20 different languages, Adobe's linguistic requirements are far-reaching and complex. Adobe contracts with vendors worldwide to perform the actual localization of these products, and Localizers is a vital partner in this workflow. Our international team of experts performs linguistic reviews of the translations provided by the localization vendors, ensuring that every aspect of a product—from the user interface to the help and the documentation—conforms to Adobe’s terminology and corporate style for the respective language. Since new technologies generate a steady stream of new key terms, we work closely with Adobe and their localization vendors to develop appropriate terminology for new concepts.

In addition to linguistic reviews, Localizers also performs full localization of specialized products such as Adobe Captivate® as well as linguistic and functional testing of pre-release software in conjunction with Adobe’s QA department.

We closely coordinate with key Adobe personnel to ensure tasks are performed in accordance with project specifications and schedules. We maintain open communication with all process partners to identify potential roadblocks early on and to ensure the success of every step. We are committed to addressing Adobe’s needs fully and flexibly, and we work tirelessly towards a common goal: creating Adobe-branded software whose linguistic quality matches its technological excellence.
